In this golf lesson I discuss a drill to keep your tush line during the swing. This drill will improve your balance, hip turn, and spine tilt during the golf swing.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

No question this is extremely important. You know the old phrase "keep your head down"? Well, it's not keeping your head down as much as it is maintaining spine angle. I think about not allowing my hips to get closer to the ball during the downswing (actually, I think about another body part, but not going to go there, but you get the idea). If my hips get closer to the ball, I obviously lost my tush line.

I personally don't like thinking about rolling the hips, but this isn't the 1st time i've heard that. That's just me. I have very little bump/slide toward the target with my lower body during the golf swing.

I think a BIG key is the orientation of the weight on your feet at address. I see too many people too far out on their toes (including me from time to time). Get the weight AT LEAST in the middle of your feet.

Beyond that, nice little video. If you can get the club on the proper plane during the backswing AND maintain spine angle during the downswing, that's about 95% of the game right there.

Thanks random... I would say I see most people on their heels though!

I see heels at impact, but toes at address. Proper bend point within your address position can fix that (hips that is).

I think the "roll" analogy for the hips might lead to the hips opening up too early.
This is likely to encourage an over the top move.
Which most people do already.

I like the bump Randomhero talked about.
I really like thinking of the downswing like this..
