There are a lot of videos on SwingAcademy from people who are asking for help. And a lot of their pleas go unanswered.

Even if you are not a PGA certified instructor, you may have some knowledge that will help some of these golfers.

If you have a few moments, why not have a look at some of the unanalyzed videos and share your experience with other members.

I thank you in advance.

it would be good if people could post what kind of shot they're hitting (curve, quality of impact etc) because you can't see that on most videos, and also what they're trying to improve at the moment. some people do that already but most don't. makes fixing things a lot easier if you know what kind of problem the player is having. i'll try to leave a comment every once in a while :)

Rick:

I feel your pain. There are thousands of golfers out there, and they all want help, and here's your incredible website like a soup line on Skid Row but there aren't any volunteers to dish out the soup.

Here's one of the problems that I'm seeing: At a soup line, anyone with a heart can dish out soup. On this website, most people don't want just anyone with a heart dishing out advice. I agree with you that people don't need to be PGA professionals to help others with a golf swing, but there needs to be something to give the users a sense that they are getting some kind of quality advice.

Here's a better analogy: There's an epidemic, and doctors are needed to tend to the sick. The sick don't want just anyone making diagnoses or administering treatment. Maybe they don't need doctors, but surely they need someone with a reliable medical background, or at least one doctor on site to oversee treatment.

Does your site have someone like that, besides you, who works on your site? I don't mean just your members, either. Your clinic needs doctors and nurses, not candy stripers and volunteers. I know that's what your call for volunteers was all about, but maybe you need to be more focused in finding one or two specific instructors that you can employ (i.e., compensate) who will float around and dispense quality advice to the multitudes.

This is not an offer, either. I'm just a high school golf coach with a single digit handicap who can't hold a candle to some of those guys out there.

That's my two cents' worth.

I have reviewed over 300 swings. I have not been here in a while for a number of reasons. The ones that have to do with this site are the following:

In reviewing the swings, about 35-40% (maybe) have responded to what i have taken my time to look at and tell them what i see. This is really frustrating because, i'm not sure in ANY way what i have written is useful to them or not. Rick i have PM'ed you a couple of times on having some sort of "forced feedback" from the people to let us that DO REVIEW SWINGS know what they think. This would also be useful because maybe the ppl could let us know that it didn't help because of one reason or another or if they want more expanded info on something that we have said. It should be simple.... If you post - IMO your asking for SOMEONE to review the swing, and if someone does, the least that you could do is respond with a "Thank you for your review", but it also help US to know what you think about the review. If you were to put SOME type of response it would make us better for the next person.

For those of us that review swings it would also be useful for us to have some sort of macro function that would allow us to use "pre-typed" instructions. Some of what we type is the same thing over and over and if there was some sort of short cut to instructions that we could type in our on words and then paste them in for a certain lesson frame would save time and allow us to review MORE swings.

It should also be mandatory with a sort of bullet point thing, that when you do post a swing you should have to select the type of swing pattern - Traditional or Stack & Tilt or other and they could define that, as well as ball flight of the shot they posted. Would also like to see something that tells us their typical miss, divot pattern, any swing thoughts they are working on....etc.

The tab sets are still not fixed - I work off of a laptop and lock the mouse pad when i type because i tend to hit it and it puts the cursor in a different place or erases what i have already written. I LIKE TO USE THE TAB KEY to jump from box to box but when you are typing a statement in the "title" box and then use the tab key to jump to the "detailed instruction" box it does not jump there first but has to go through all of the other buttons first before it gets you to the correct box to type details about the frame you are making your point on.

This maybe all be sort of petty but this is how i feel. If we ALL want to see this site get better (and i think that's why we are here...besides the obvious) then i believe this is how things COULD get better.

Well i'm back. I had to take some time away due to work and the end of the golf season. My left leg and back were killing me. Work has been really stressful. Not to mention the sub 30*. I had to get golf out of my mind for awhile.

But, i'm back in the gym, starting to swing inside again. Getting the body ready for the season, which I HOPE is only 45 or so days away.

I'm not certified. I'm a 2 who plays 1-2 rounds a week. I've reviewed a lot of swings. I am here to help.

I am going to keep my reviews short and sweet. I get long winded. Find 1 or 2 (max) areas that need improvement. Most of those will be in the takeaway. Once I fixed my own takeaway last year, I added 20 yards to my drive and 5-10 in the irons/hybrids/woods. Still seeing A LOT of people yanking the club inside.

Anyway, its nice to be back and feel free to hit me up for a review.

Have you ever been to a driving range and some guy decides to offer you suggestions on what your doing wrong.  Half the time he says something like "keep your head down", "eye on the ball", "slow it down."  All of that adice is what keeps us PGA professionals in business.  There may be alot of good advice out there, but be carefull of what you listen to.  Most golfers, instructors see symptoms, not causes.  For example topped shots very rarely occur cause you took your eye off the ball.

Just saying, as the old saying goes.  You pay for what you get.  Just my opinion.  Thanks.

From my experience if someone walks up to you and starts giving you advice it's usually what they have been at the range working on.

 hello all!!!

I have posted a video of my swing. I tend to hit a very high fade and slice every once in a while. Trying to try it into a draw instead of fade and stop it from going just as high as far. Swing speed for drive is 115 to 120 and i use a stiff flex shaft now. I do not try and swing hard. thanks in advance!!
